SDN Front and Centre
Guess what dominated much of the panel discussion on innovation at the Canadian Telecom Summit in Toronto recently?
“Virtualization and software-defined everything seem to be everywhere right now,” said panel moderator John Antonio, chief strategy officer at Interdynamix.
The panel – which included senior execs from carriers Telus and Allstream – cited software-defined networks (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) as key innovations bringing more intelligence, scalability and reach to business networks. Those businesses can then offer improved services to their own consumer and B2B customers, the panelists noted.
